Mr. Feinman’s Children’s Museum of Toronto fulfils the objectives of the International Museum Day (IMD) to raise awareness about the fact that, ‘museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.’
Organized on May 18th each year or around this date, the events and activities planned to celebrate International Museum Day can last a day, a week or even longer. IMD was celebrated for the first time, more than 40 years ago. We are happy to participate as one of Canada’s representatives along with over 37,000 museums from more than 158 countries and territories.
This is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the importance of the role of museums as institutions that serve society and its development. We are joining thousands of other museums globally in celebrating our transformative power and promoting positive change in our local Toronto community.
